PrismaX Just Changed Robotics Forever – New Teleoperation Platform Launch Explained

Full robot autonomy might be the dream — but for now, robots still need a bit of human help. Enter PrismaX, a San Francisco startup that’s just launched its new teleoperation platform for robotic arms.

Think of it like remote control for robots — but designed for serious work, not just grabbing snacks.

Co-founder and CEO Bayley Wang called the launch “the first step towards mainstream adoption,” aiming for a future where humans and robots work side by side — amplifying our capacity, not replacing it.

The platform lets users log in and control a robot arm from anywhere, making it ideal for tasks that still require human decision-making — or for training AI systems with real-world data.

Backed by $11 million in funding and a growing list of supported robots — including the Unitree G1, Reachy 2, and MIT’s Mini-Cheetah — PrismaX is building a “data flywheel” to speed up robot autonomy.

And yes, they’re even planning a tele-op tournament, proving that remote work really has no limits anymore.

The future of robotics? It’s hands-on — even when you’re miles away.

Inside the 2025 World Robot Conference – Smarter Robots, Humanoids, and the Rise of TORA-ONE

Beijing is getting ready to host one of the biggest showcases in robotics: the 2025 World Robot Conference, happening August 8–12 in the high-tech zone of Beijing E-Town.

This year’s event promises a serious upgrade—over 100 new robotic products will make their debut, nearly twice as many as last year. With more than 1,500 exhibits from 200+ global companies, it’s clear the conference is fast becoming the go-to global stage for robotics innovation.

The theme? ‘Making Robots Smarter, Making Embodied Agents More Intelligent.’ Expect to see everything from agile quadrupeds and rescue bots to robotic lawnmowers and surgical-assisting catheter robots. It’s a full display of where intelligent machines are heading.

A major draw will be the 50 full-body humanoid robots on show. And yes—they’re getting better at walking, grasping, and even making eye contact… just don’t expect them to laugh at your jokes. Yet.

China remains the world’s robot powerhouse, producing 556,000 industrial robots in 2024 and filing two-thirds of global robot patents. The international interest has grown too—up from just a dozen international institutions a decade ago to 28 today, with over 80 overseas participants expected this year.

And for something a bit more fun, there’s also a Robot Consumer Festival running alongside, blending cutting-edge tech with consumer curiosity.

Meet Lume – The Viral Laundry-Folding Robot Lamp Everyone’s Talking About!

A lamp that folds your laundry? Meet Lume — the laundry-folding robot that’s quietly going viral.

Designed by Stanford researcher Aaron Tan, Lume looks like a pair of sleek bedside lamps. But when activated, robotic arms emerge, detect your laundry, and start folding it — no noise, no fuss, and no need for your involvement.

Tan shared a short teaser online, and it racked up nearly 4 million views in two days. Some were amazed. Others asked, “Is this real?” The answer? Sort of. The video was a render, but the working prototype lives in a garage in San Francisco.

The idea came from Beauty and the Beast — where furniture comes alive — but this version sticks to one task: folding laundry. No roaming, no cooking, and definitely no back rubs.

It’s called “ambient robotics” — tech that lives in the background, does one thing well, and doesn’t try to replace humans.

Coming in 2026, under $2,000. Simple. Useful. And finally, a robot that doesn’t need a user manual the size of a novel.

World’s Cutest Humanoid Robot? Meet Fourier’s GR-3 – The Future of Home & Classroom AI

World’s Cutest Humanoid Robot? Meet Fourier’s GR-3 – The Future of Home & Classroom AI

Fourier Robotics is back – and this time, they’ve gone small, soft, and seriously smart. Meet the GR-3, their newest humanoid robot, officially launching August 6.

Unlike its taller siblings, the GR-1 and GR-2, the GR-3 stands at just 4 foot 5 – designed specifically for homes, schools, and other everyday spaces. Think less “robot overlord,” more helpful housemate.

Early previews show a friendlier, more approachable design, complete with expressive eyes and a softer aesthetic. It’s built to engage naturally, thanks to a built-in large language model, making it ideal as a teaching assistant, caregiver, or even just a chatty companion.

While it may not lift heavy loads like the GR-1, or flex dexterous robot hands like the GR-2, the GR-3 focuses on being accessible, interactive, and—yes—charmingly compact.

If priced right, the GR-3 could be the first humanoid robot to make itself truly at home.

Doosan Robotics Buys ONExia for $25.9M – Game-Changing Move Toward AI-Powered Automation

Doosan Robotics Buys ONExia for $25.9M – Game-Changing Move Toward AI-Powered Automation

Doosan Robotics has just acquired an 89.59% stake in U.S.-based automation firm ONExia for $25.9 million. That’s a strategic move—and a serious investment—to expand Doosan’s global footprint.

ONExia, founded back in 1984 and based in Pennsylvania, specialises in end-to-end automation. They’ve made a name for themselves in manufacturing, logistics, and packaging—especially for end-of-line tasks like palletizing and box assembly. Not the flashiest jobs, but crucial ones where automation shines.

With an average of 30% annual sales growth and 25 years of automation data under its belt, ONExia brings valuable experience to the table. Doosan plans to use that data to boost its AI capabilities and shift from being just a hardware provider to offering smarter, more integrated robotic solutions.

Doosan’s CEO, Kevin Kim, says this marks a key milestone in their global strategy. And alongside the acquisition, the company is ramping up R&D, hiring AI and software specialists, and preparing to launch a new Innovation Center.

In short: Doosan isn’t just building robots—it’s building the future of intelligent automation.
