Space Robots Discover Alien Caves on Mars & Moon – Future Human Homes Revealed

SPACE bots are preparing to become the first cosmic property scouts — exploring caves on the Moon and Mars that could one day be home to humans.

A team of European scientists, including the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence, tested the idea on Lanzarote, chosen because its volcanic terrain looks a lot like Mars.

Three different robots worked together to map lava fields, hunt for cave entrances, and explore a skylight — a hole leading down to an underground cave.

They carried out a four-step mission: first mapping the surface, then dropping a sensor into the cave, lowering in a rover, and finally letting it explore on its own to create a full 3D map.

The mission proved a success, showing that teams of autonomous robots can work together to explore areas far too dangerous for humans. Lava caves are especially promising, offering natural shelter from radiation and meteorite impacts — basically nature’s own bunkers.

Of course, if we do end up living on Mars, our bodies might need some upgrades. Lower gravity could stretch our spines, weaken our bones, and even change how we look. A little unsettling, but at least the robots will have the hard part figured out.

So here’s to our robotic pioneers — mapping out tomorrow’s neighbourhoods in the dark, rocky depths of alien worlds.

Galbot Wins Gold at World Humanoid Robot Games 2025 – Fully Autonomous Robot Redefines the Future

Galbot Wins Gold at World Humanoid Robot Games 2025 – Fully Autonomous Robot Redefines the Future

Big news from Beijing—Galbot has just made history at the very first World Humanoid Robot Games, taking home the gold medal in the Robot Skills Competition. And it did it without any human help—fully autonomous, no teleoperation, no strings attached.

While many of the 22 teams relied on remote control, Galbot sailed through the prelims, semis, and finals in first place. The headline moment was the Pharmaceutical Sorting Challenge, where it scanned six tall shelves, picked the right medications out of hundreds, and delivered nine correct ones in just 10 minutes and 22 seconds. The score? 336 points—leaving second place trailing by a huge 160-point margin.

This wasn’t just a flashy demo. Galbot’s already hard at work in over 10 smart pharmacies across Beijing, with plans to roll out to more than 100 by the end of the year. So yes, it’s already handing out prescriptions while the rest of us are still fumbling with self-checkout machines.

The secret behind its success is Galbot’s clever ‘Sim2Real’ training method—massive synthetic data practice, then fine-tuning in the real world. That means it learns faster, costs less, and adapts better.

So, from the competition floor to the pharmacy counter, Galbot isn’t just winning medals—it’s redefining what robots can do in the real world. And if this is the starting line, the future of humanoid robotics just got a whole lot more interesting.

Evri Unleashes Robot Dog Deliveries – UK’s First Autonomous Parcel Pups Explained

Evri Unleashes Robot Dog Deliveries UK’s First Autonomous Parcel Pups Explained

Imagine opening your door this summer to find… not just a courier, but a robot dog delivering your parcel.

That’s exactly what Evri, the UK’s largest dedicated parcel delivery company, is preparing to trial in a UK first. And no, it’s not an April Fool’s joke.

Working in partnership with Swiss physical-AI specialists RIVR, the four-legged robot will support couriers by hopping in and out of vans and handling some of the legwork—literally—when parcels need to reach your door.

The trial begins in Barnsley in summer 2025, where residents can sign up to take part. Alongside the robot dogs, smaller electric delivery bots from Delivers AI will also be put to the test, running day and night, offering more flexibility for consumers, including scheduled delivery slots and even late-night drop-offs.

Evri’s Chief Technology Officer, Marcus Hunter, is clear: couriers remain at the heart of the business. The robots are designed to assist, not replace, making deliveries faster, easier, and more convenient.

So while these robot dogs won’t wag their tails or fetch your slippers, they might just change the way your next parcel arrives at the door

    China’s Deep-Sea Robot Fish – Survives 10,000m Ocean Pressure

    China’s Deep-Sea Robot Fish – Survives 10,000m Ocean Pressure

“Researchers at Harbin Engineering University in China have unveiled something remarkable: a robot inspired by fish that can survive the crushing pressures of the deep sea.”

“Instead of relying on heavy motors and rigid frames, this 32-centimetre, 670-gram robot is built with flexible silicone and a special liquid inside. Even more impressive, it actually uses seawater itself as part of its propulsion system, generating motion through electric fields in the water. It’s an elegant, energy-efficient way to mimic the smooth movements of marine life.”

“In tests, the robot swam effectively at depths of 4,000 meters, demonstrating its ability to navigate, sense, and manoeuvre underwater. In the lab, it was subjected to pressure equivalent to 10,000 meters below the surface—the kind of environment found at the deepest parts of our oceans—and it held up without damage.”

“This makes it especially useful for underwater observation and exploration. Unlike traditional submersibles, its soft-bodied design allows it to move through fragile ecosystems with minimal disturbance, opening new possibilities for studying deep-sea life.”

“Robots like this show how engineering can learn from nature. By combining flexibility, efficiency, and resilience, researchers are moving closer to unlocking the mysteries of Earth’s final frontier: the deep ocean.”

World’s First Humanoid Robot Olympics! – Beijing 2025 Robot Games

World’s First Humanoid Robot Olympics! – Beijing 2025 Robot Games

The inaugural World Humanoid Robot Games are underway in Beijing, China — the first global sporting event where the athletes are made of metal, not muscle.

Teams from 16 countries, including the US, Germany and Japan, have sent more than 500 robots across 280 teams to compete in events ranging from athletics and football to dance and martial arts. There’s even table tennis, boxing, and tasks like sorting medicine and cleaning — because in the robot world, everyday chores are just another sport.

Organisers say the goal isn’t just entertainment — it’s about testing and refining the next generation of humanoid robots. Sports offer a unique way to push robots’ decision-making, coordination, and motor skills to the limit, skills that could soon be applied to practical settings like factories, logistics, and even home assistance.

The games are part of China’s ambitious plan to become a global leader in humanoid robotics. The country has invested billions into AI and robotics development and aims to establish a world-class humanoid industry by 2027, with big funding initiatives already in motion.

So whether they’re scoring goals, dancing, or occasionally losing their balance, these robots are more than just competing — they’re helping shape the technology that could one day be working right alongside us.

China’s Bionic Antelope – The AI-Powered Robot Protecting Endangered Tibetan Wildlife

High in the Hoh Xil National Nature Reserve, at an altitude of 4,600 meters, survival is no small feat. This remote region in China’s Qinghai Province is home to the endangered Tibetan antelope – and now, a rather unusual newcomer.

Meet the bionic Tibetan antelope – a life-like robot developed by Xinhua, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and DEEP Robotics. Covered in realistic fur and matching the size and shape of the real thing, it quietly mingles with wild herds to collect vital conservation data.

Equipped with 5G connectivity and AI vision recognition, the robot monitors migration routes, feeding habits, and the growth of young antelopes, sending real-time updates to researchers miles away. Its design allows for close observation without disturbing natural behaviour – something binoculars and human presence can rarely achieve.

Built to handle rugged slopes, muddy wetlands, and rocky ground, it can operate up to two kilometres from its control point. It even sends early warnings when herds approach roads, helping rangers manage traffic and keep the animals safe.

For conservationists, this is a breakthrough: accurate, non-intrusive, and capable of working in one of the most extreme environments on Earth. The Tibetan antelope gains a silent guardian – and science gains an unprecedented window into their world.

Meet Parker – The $100K Robot Patrolling Silver Spring’s Parking Garage

Meet Parker—a five-foot-tall, 420-pound security robot now patrolling the Town Square Parking Garage in Silver Spring. Built by Knightscope, Parker’s equipped with 360-degree cameras, license plate readers, strobe lights, and infrared sensors.

The mission? Deter crime, record suspicious activity, and send footage straight to police—helping to fill the gap left by nearly 190 vacant officer positions in Montgomery County.

It’s not replacing human officers—think of it more as an extra set of eyes on wheels. Parker can patrol on its own, record video for up to 30 days, and even connect people directly to police dispatch with an emergency button.

Officials say it’s part of a broader push to boost safety in garages, especially after an unsolved 2022 homicide and a rise in auto thefts.

Right now, Parker’s still in the testing phase—navigating ramps, interacting with people, and getting ready for a formal launch. Some residents welcome the idea, others are cautious about extra surveillance.

So if you’re parking downtown and a robot rolls by, no need to worry—it’s just Parker, making sure your car’s as safe as you left it.

Olympus – ESA’s Jumping Robot That Could Leap Into Mars’ Untouched Terrain

“Meet Olympus — the European Space Agency’s four-legged robot designed to explore the Moon and Mars. In recent tests at ESA’s ORBIT facility in the Netherlands, it showed off its ability to jump and reorient itself under simulated Martian gravity — about 38% of Earth’s pull.”

“Olympus was mounted upside-down on a friction-free, air-cushioned platform — imagine an air-hockey table for robots. This allowed engineers to test its agility in conditions similar to those on Mars, without the dust and danger.”

“Using reinforcement learning, Olympus taught itself how to control its orientation and land on all four feet — even when the platform spun. It performed wall-to-wall jumps with remarkable stability.”

“Unlike wheeled rovers, Olympus can leap over obstacles and even venture into lava tubes or caverns — terrain that’s off-limits to most current robotic explorers.”

“With agility, intelligence, and a knack for keeping its balance, Olympus could one day help astronauts reach parts of Mars that have never been explored before — in just a few leaps.”

Inside Beijing’s Robot Mall – Meet the Life-Like Robots Changing Everyday Life

Beijing has just opened its first Robot Mall—a four-storey hub selling more than 100 different robots from over 40 brands. It’s been compared to a car dealership, offering sales, spare parts, and maintenance—only here, the showroom floor is full of mechanical butlers, robot dogs, chess-playing companions, and even life-like replicas of Albert Einstein.

Prices start at around 2,000 yuan—that’s about £207—and climb into the millions for the most advanced models. Visitors can try out the robots, watch them cook meals, or see them serve diners at the restaurant next door, where the chefs are also mechanical.

The store opens as Beijing hosts the World Robot Conference, featuring more than 1,500 exhibits from over 200 companies. Later this month, the city will also stage the first-ever World Humanoid Robot Games, with events ranging from track and field to dance and football.

China has invested heavily in robotics and AI—over $20 billion in subsidies last year alone—and is planning a trillion-yuan fund to help start-ups in the sector. The goal: to bring robots out of the lab, into homes, and perhaps, into everyday life sooner than we think.

From an Einstein who never forgets his equations to a robot that never complains about overtime—Robot Mall could be the place where the future goes retail.
