Meet the Gitamini Droid – Your Real-Life Star Wars Robot

If you’ve ever wanted your own Star Wars droid—but didn’t need help piloting a starship—say hello to G1T4-M1N1, a special edition of Piaggio’s Gitamini robot.

Designed in collaboration with Disney and Lucasfilm, G1T4-M1N1 trades in its everyday look for Star Wars-inspired decals, flashing lights, and custom sound effects that bring a bit of Tatooine to your daily errands. Think of it as your own personal droid—minus the sass of C-3PO.

It follows you around using sensors and cameras, carries up to 20 pounds of cargo, and cruises at up to 6 miles per hour. And yes—it even has room for a lightsaber.

With a 21-mile range and full app control, you can check battery life, rename it, or even stream music through its built-in speaker. The Cantina Band theme? A solid choice.

At $2,875, it’s a $400 jump from the standard Gitamini—but for Star Wars fans, it might just be the most practical droid this side of the galaxy.

James Bruton – Insane Robot Wheel

James Bruton is back at it again — and this time, he’s built a robotic wheel that not only drives in any direction but also balances itself… even when you try to push it over.

It’s kind of like a unicycle, if the unicycle didn’t need a rider and was designed by a robotics genius with a 3D printer. Most of the parts are custom-printed, including a cleverly engineered main wheel made up of eight smaller wheels, each with dual tires for smooth omnidirectional motion.

At the heart of it all is a system of gears, pulleys, and idlers — 16 bearings in total — making the transitions ultra-smooth and responsive. The frame? Aluminium extrusion. The brain? A custom control system that automatically adjusts to stay upright and roll back to its original position after being nudged.

James has even added remote control to steer it, and this whole build is actually a warm-up for an even bigger project — a rideable robot with perpendicular omni-wheels. If this is the test run, we can’t wait to see the main act.

Robot Chefs Are Here! – ABB x BurgerBots

BurgerBots and ABB Robotics are serving up the future—literally. In Los Gatos, California, the duo has opened a next-gen fast food restaurant where robots prepare your burger with industrial precision.

Using ABB’s IRB 360 FlexPicker and YuMi collaborative robot, each order is assembled in just 27 seconds. That’s faster than most people can decide between fries or salad. The system even monitors ingredient levels in real time, ensuring a smooth kitchen flow and no surprise lettuce shortages.

For restaurant owners, it’s a game changer—automating the repetitive tasks, reducing labor pressure, and letting human staff focus on customer experience rather than counting tomato slices.

In fact, a recent survey showed that nearly two-thirds of hospitality workers are excited about robotics in the workplace—especially if it means less dull and repetitive work.

BurgerBots says this is just the beginning, with plans to scale up for busy venues and on-the-go dining.

So if you’re in Los Gatos, stop by and see how ABB’s robots are flipping burgers—and expectations.

Meet Zyrex – The 20ft AI Construction Robot

Meet Zyrex—the world’s first AI-powered Giantroid, and the latest game-changer from RIC Robotics.

Standing 20 feet tall, Zyrex isn’t here to mimic humans—it’s designed to build better. From welding and carpentry to 3D printing and finishing work, this robot handles it all with precision and power. Think of it as the construction site’s ultimate multitasker—with 26 degrees of freedom, interchangeable tools, and AI vision that reads blueprints like a pro.

Why now? The construction industry is facing a global labor shortage and high-risk environments. Zyrex helps bridge the gap, offering a safe, scalable solution that’s trained by humans but built to eventually work on its own.

And despite its size, Zyrex won’t crush your budget. With a price under $1 million, and leasing options starting below $20K a month, it brings industrial-grade robotics within reach.

Zyrex builds on the success of RIC’s previous models—like the robot that 3D-printed a Walmart extension in just 7 days. Now, we’re going beyond printing to full-on general-purpose construction.

Zyrex is coming. And the future of building will never look the same.

XPENG’s Iron – The AI-Powered Humanoid Robot with Eagle-Eye Vision

Introducing Iron — XPENG’s humanoid robot that’s redefining what machines can do.

Standing 5 foot 8 and weighing 154 pounds, Iron combines advanced AI, smooth human-like movement, and vision sharp enough to spot a paperclip across the room. With 60 joints and 200 degrees of freedom, it moves naturally — no jerky robot dance moves here.

Right now, Iron is hard at work assembling electric vehicles. But XPENG has much bigger plans — envisioning it helping out in offices, customer service, and even around the house.

Powered by XPENG’s custom Turing AI chip — capable of 3,000 trillion operations per second — and a 720-degree vision system, Iron sees and processes the world in real time, reacting with human-like intelligence.

This robot is part of XPENG’s larger vision: blending robotics, AI, and automotive innovation into one smart ecosystem.

With Iron leading the way, the future looks less like science fiction — and more like our next big leap forward.

Drones Begin Building – The Future of Construction

Drones Begin Building – The Future of Construction

Construction is taking to the skies — literally.

For the first time, flying construction robots are being tested in site-like conditions. It’s part of new research led by Imperial College London and the University of Bristol, exploring how drones could change the way we build.

The idea? Aerial Additive Manufacturing — or Aerial AM — where drones deposit building materials mid-air. Imagine them 3D-printing structures at height, no scaffolding required.

These tests are happening at DroneHub in Switzerland, a dedicated space for seeing how flying robots perform outside the lab.

Of course, we’re still early days. Dr. Kocer from the University of Bristol says challenges like material strength, outdoor navigation, and team coordination need solving. But early demos have shown promise — with on-demand repairs and modular assembly already in action.

The future of construction might not just be bigger — it might be lighter, faster, and a little bit airborne.

Extend Robotics – Bringing VR-Controlled Robots to Truck Assembly

Imagine building powerful trucks with a robot… controlled by a mechanic wearing a VR headset. It might sound futuristic — but it’s already happening.

Extend Robotics recently completed a successful trial at Leyland Trucks’ factory in Preston. Using virtual reality, operators could control humanoid robots in real time, tackling high-risk tasks like installing high-voltage components — without ever suiting up in protective gear.

These tasks normally take time and come with safety risks. But with VR teleoperation, they were done smoothly — and safely — in just a few minutes.

Even first-timers were surprised at how intuitive it felt. “It’s like your hand is that hand,” one said. No training montage required.

Extend Robotics also demoed AI systems that can learn from experienced staff — showing promise for future automation and safety improvements.

From hands-on to hands-free, Leyland and Extend Robotics are driving the future of manufacturing — one robot at a time.

“Extend Robotics – Safer. Smarter. Seamless.”
