$2M AI Robot That Builds Walls 10x Faster — Buildroid Is Changing Construction Forever
Today we’re looking at a new construction robot that just secured a $2 million boost — and it could reshape how buildings go up across America.
Buildroid AI, a robotics startup backed by investor Tim Draper, has launched its first AI-powered block-laying robot.
Founded by Slava Solonitsyn — the same mind behind Mighty Buildings, which raised over $100 million — Buildroid is aiming squarely at the construction industry’s biggest issues: labor shortages, slow timelines, and rising costs.
What makes this robot interesting is the BIM-to-BUILD simulation approach.
Before it ever gets to a job site, the system trains inside a digital twin powered by Nvidia Omniverse, learning the layout, optimizing the workflow, and preparing for real-world conditions.
This leads to up to 10x productivity gains and up to 4x cost savings compared to manual blockwork.
And unlike typical single-skill robots, Buildroid’s platform is designed to scale across multiple tasks and eventually across the entire construction workflow.
The robot is already being piloted on live projects in the UAE. Soon, it will work alongside Autonomous Mobile Robots that deliver concrete blocks directly to the block-laying robot — reducing the need for manual support and speeding up the entire process.
