UK Trials Robot Bricklayers to Fix Construction Crisis!

Robot bricklayers are coming to Britain—yes, really.

Developed by Dutch firm Monumental, these machines use two robotic arms to lay bricks and mortar at the same pace as a human—about 500 bricks in an 8-hour shift. But the key difference? They don’t need tea breaks and can work through the night under supervision.

With a shortage of 25,000 bricklayers across the UK, these robots could help construction firms keep up with the government’s house-building targets. Monumental has already proven the tech in the Netherlands, building everything from canal walls to housing facades.

Now they’re teaming up with London-based contractor Galostar to trial the robots on British sites. The goal? See if they can handle UK standards—and British weather.

The machines can even lay bricks in decorative patterns, potentially bringing back the kind of detailed facades we haven’t seen since Victorian times—but without the hefty labour costs.

At around £1 a brick, these robots aren’t necessarily cheaper than a human—but they’re consistent, programmable, and always show up.

Robot Revolution in Farming – TRIC Robotics Raises $5.5M to Eliminate Pesticides with UV Tech!

TRIC Robotics has just raised $5.5 million in seed funding to tackle one of farming’s biggest challenges — pest and disease control — without relying on harmful chemicals.

Their solution? An autonomous robot named Luna that uses ultraviolet light to fight off plant diseases and vacuum tech to remove insects — all without pesticides. Think of it as modern farming’s clean, high-tech helper.

The company is starting with strawberries — a notoriously pesticide-heavy and labour-intensive crop — and has already deployed robots across hundreds of acres in California’s Central Coast, reducing chemical use by up to 70%.

This new funding, led by Version One Ventures and others, will help TRIC grow its robot fleet, expand to more farming regions like Oxnard and Watsonville, and further enhance its automation and analytics capabilities.

CEO Adam Stager put it best: “We’re helping farmers grow more with less — without damaging the planet.”

And honestly, that’s a mission worth rooting for.

This Robot Truck Drives on Rails?! – Glid Raises $3.1M to Revolutionize Freight Logistics

Glīd Technologies has just announced a $3.1 million pre-seed funding round to commercialize something pretty exciting—road-to-rail autonomy.

Their goal? Solve one of logistics’ biggest headaches: the chaotic, costly “first mile” of freight. Their solution is the Gīder, an autonomous vehicle that drives on roads and rails—cutting out the need for terminals, forklifts, or complex transloading. Think of it as the Swiss Army knife of container movement.

Leading the round were Outlander VC, Draper U Ventures, and other investors who clearly believe Glīd is on track—literally—to transform supply chains.

They’ve also rolled out Rāden, a low-profile, hybrid-electric vehicle made for tough environments, and EZRA-1SIX, an AI platform that orchestrates it all like mission control.

Founder and CEO Kevin Damoa says Glīd isn’t just building automation—it’s building resilient, secure logistics infrastructure for both commerce and defense.

With real-world testing launching in California and Washington next year, Glīd is moving fast—because in logistics, speed and efficiency still win the race… especially when you don’t have to wait for a forklift.

Domino’s Robot Dog vs Seagulls! Meet Domidog – The Beach Pizza Protector

Ever had your seaside snack swiped by a sneaky seagull? Domino’s has a new answer: Domidog – a high-tech robot dog designed to protect your pizza from airborne thieves.

This four-legged machine isn’t just for show. Built on Boston Dynamics’ cutting-edge robotics, Domidog can navigate sand, dodge obstacles, and keep a close eye on your order using advanced sensors and stereo cameras.

Why the need? Research shows seagulls are one of the biggest annoyances at the British seaside – with one in three visitors saying they’ve been targeted. Domino’s decided enough was enough.

While Domidog won’t be replacing delivery drivers, it’s being trialled this summer at beach hotspots to keep your slices safe and secure – and still piping hot.

Domino’s says it’s all part of their mission to deliver smarter, fresher, and now seagull-proof service.

So if you’re on the beach and spot a robotic pup cruising by with pizza on board – don’t worry. It’s not the future gone mad. It’s just Domidog, here to guard your garlic and your margherita.

Meet CivDot – The Autonomous Robot Revolutionising Construction Site Layouts!

What never eats, never sleeps, and works eight times faster than a human? Say hello to CivDot, the autonomous layout robot from Civ Robotics.

Built for construction sites, CivDot takes your project’s CSV coordinate file and gets to work—no warm-up, no coffee needed. It lays out precise paint marks, projects laser outlines, and can cover up to 3,000 points over 17 miles in just one shift. Compare that to a human surveyor, who might manage 400 points on a good day.

But it’s not replacing people—it’s teaming up with them. Once CivDot marks the ground, a worker follows up to place physical stakes or flags, ensuring everything holds up under real-world conditions.

With 8-millimetre accuracy and round-the-clock stamina, CivDot is transforming construction layout into a faster, smarter process. No fuss, no fatigue—just precision at speed.

RealSense Breaks Free from Intel – The Future of 3D Vision for Robots Begins Now

RealSense, the team behind those popular 3D depth cameras used in robotics, is stepping out on its own. After years under Intel — and a bit of corporate back-and-forth — RealSense has officially spun out as an independent company, backed by $50 million from Intel Capital and MediaTek.

Led by CEO Nadav Orbach, a longtime Intel veteran, the company brings along 130 employees — 115 from Intel and 15 fresh recruits — all now part-owners of the new venture. Orbach calls them “130 founders,” now building what he calls a startup focused on physical AI.

RealSense already powers thousands of robots — from AMRs to humanoids — and now it’s doubling down on software. Think visual SLAM for navigation, and 3D safety to help robots avoid bumping into… well, everything.

They’ve just launched the D555 PoE camera and a new AI chip delivering 5 TOPS of onboard compute — making their cameras smarter and more responsive, right at the edge.

Now free from Intel’s constraints, RealSense is moving faster, forming new partnerships, and expanding into unexpected sectors — from agriculture to aquaculture. And with stability and a clear roadmap, customers are breathing a sigh of relief.

After all, in robotics, it helps when your vision provider has one of its own.

China’s Subway Robots Are Delivering 7-Eleven Orders — World-First in Autonomous Delivery!

In a world-first move, China’s Vanke Group has launched a fleet of autonomous delivery robots that ride the Shenzhen subway to deliver goods to 7-Eleven stores.

These 41 robots — about one metre tall with a sleek, penguin-like design — travel during off-peak hours, navigating lifts, platform gaps, and even train doors with ease. They’ve got LED faces that flash friendly eyes and smiles, and they’ve already turned heads among surprised commuters.

Operated by VX Logistics, part-owned by Shenzhen Metro, the robots replace the traditional trolley-pushing staff — offering a more efficient, automated delivery system. At each station, they exit the train and head straight into the stores to drop off supplies.

This initiative is part of Shenzhen’s broader plan to become a global hub for robotics and AI, with over 1,600 robotics companies already based in the city.

So yes — in Shenzhen, even your convenience store snacks might have arrived on the subway… courtesy of a robot that looks like it’s just stepped out of a sci-fi film.

This Solar-Powered Robot Destroys Weeds Without Chemicals – Farming’s AI Revolution Begins!

Out in the sun-drenched fields of California, a new kind of farmhand is on duty. It’s not human, it doesn’t use fuel, and it certainly doesn’t need a lunch break. It’s the Element robot from Aigen — a solar-powered, AI-guided weeding machine helping farmers tackle one of agriculture’s oldest problems… without chemicals.

With fewer people willing to do manual weeding and herbicides losing their edge against stubborn weeds, farmers have been in a bit of a bind. That’s where Aigen steps in. Their mission? Replace chemicals with clean tech.

The Element robot runs entirely on solar power and uses onboard AI to identify and eliminate weeds — accurately and efficiently — without harming the crops. It’s already working in cotton, soy, and sugar beet fields, and it’s tough enough to handle rough terrain and unpredictable weather.

At Bowles Farm in California, these robots are delivering results today — reducing chemical use, cutting labour costs, and collecting valuable crop data along the way.

So, while it might not wear overalls, this robot is bringing real muscle to modern farming — and doing it all under the power of the sun.
